As the name suggests, Flaggle implies that its content will be about flags. More specifically, this puzzle game challenges players to find the flag of a nation via the shadowed images concealed by the game.
Being created with the idea of the million-dollar franchise word-guessing game Wordle, the Flaggle game also runs on the general layout of its original version. However, the guessing object is changed from words to national flags of a random country in the world.
In the beginning, the game is displayed with a blank screen with only a guessing box without any further clue. Consequently, your first guess will always be considered as a sacrifice to get hints from the game.
You can make your guess by typing a country’s name into the guessing box placed below the game’s logo. Next, press Enter or the “Guess” button to submit your answer.
The game is made for people who love to find out more about countries and geographical features in the world, so correctly typing English words is not seriously taken into consideration in the game. You can just type some letters of the country’s name that you assume may be a possible solution.
The system can then automatically recognize and give you some relevant choices. By pressing or tapping the name, you can decide which one to put in the guessing box.
Flaggle will suggest some clues for you to quickly come up with the correct solution. Like Wordle or Strands NYT, the flag-guessing game also offers hints based on similar features, like colors or patterns, that the guessed flag shares with the solution flag.
In detail, the solution flag will be placed right beside your guessed flag, but its parts will be colored in green or black. The green parts of the correct flag show that they will be completely the same as those in the guessed flag.
For instance, if the guessed flag has a green star, the solution will also contain a green star in a similar position.
On the contrary, if a part in the guessed flag turns black, the solution flag doesn’t feature such a pattern.
